Some of the Most Common Problems with Printers

Everybody uses printers.  We need printers for many uses, and it can be frustrating when they don't work properly.  Sometimes problems are caused by a really old printer that just needs replaced.  Please click here to see more information on printer repairs. But usually you can use a little bit of common sense and figure out how to repair your printer on your own.  In this article I am going to talk about some common problems with printers and how to fix them.

The first issue is when your printer is printing too slowly.  Slow printing is usually due to your printer trying to take its time and getting every little detail to make an ultra high quality printout, which can be good in some situations but for normal use you don't need high quality settings.  To speed up printing just click on the "Print Properties" option, or comparable option, and lower the print quality.  Printing pages without pictures or adding RAM to your computer may also help you print things faster.  One problem that is fairly recent is when a wireless printer prints slowly.  Being close to the wireless router will make it print faster, so remember that your printer needs to be close to the router and not necessarily your computer.

Next let's talk about printing from the wrong printer.  This problem usually only affects people that have multiple printers, fax machines, etc connected to one computer.  The solution is simple though.  Follow the link for more info on hp printer repairs sydney. Click on the Start button on the bottom of your screen and go to "Devices and Printers," then simply select the printer you want, right-click it and choose the "set as default printer" option.

Another problem is when you get a message saying your printer cartridge is out of ink when it really isn't.  To do this you must get the cartridge out and find the tiny "reset" button above the circuit on the back, and press the button with a small pointy object.  This method is a little sneaky because most companies don't let you know about the reset option, but it works well so why not use it?

And while we are on the topic of ink, one common issue everyone faces is when something prints out faded or has the wrong colors.  Don't worry, this usually means that you just need a new ink or toner cartridge.

Of course, not all problems can be fixed easily so if necessary you should send it your printer for repairs.  Great information about printer repairs is available at www.printer-repairs.com.au. There are many "geek squad" type people who specialize in printer repairs.  Hopefully you learned something from this article and can fix some simple issues with your printer now.
